Stark & Stark Shareholder Thomas J. Pryor, member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage and Liability Group, presented a Continuing Education seminar, which was sponsored by Stark & Stark and held at the Element hotel in Ewing, New Jersey on March 20, 2014. Mr. Pryor was joined by three other presenters to discuss various topics including ethics, bad faith claims, safe practices for businesses, and how public adjusters can protect themselves in the workplace. The speakers addressed over seventy New Jersey and Pennsylvania public insurance adjusters, most of whom who were members of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (MAPIA).
The focus of Mr. Pryor’s remarks was a review of New Jersey and Pennsylvania case law and statutes dealing with claims against insurance carriers, on behalf of policyholders, in circumstances where the insurance carrier’s conduct rises to the level of "bad faith" as defined under the law. Mr. Pryor’s practice includes representing policyholders in a wide variety of claims, to recover benefits or perfect coverage on their behalf, across virtually all lines of insurance.
