The base Child Support obligation is calculated using the parties’ combined net incomes and the split in proportion to their incomes.

While most usual and ordinary base expenses are included in the Child Support award, there are several types of expenses that are added into the Child Support calculations.  These additional expenses are not included in the base Child Support award because they represent large, variable expenses, and/or atypical expenses.

These additional expenses include child care expenses, health insurance premiums for the child, predictable and recurring unreimbursed health care expenses, and other court approved expenses.
