Craig S. Hilliard, Shareholder in Stark & Stark’s Litigation and Intellectual Property Groups, was featured in The New York Times article “That Most Important Dress, or at Least a Look-Alike”, published on Friday, March 1, 2013.
The article discusses the issues surrounding copyright laws for designers, especially within the bridal industry. Craig Hilliard, who represents the American Bridal & Prom Industry Association in a federal lawsuit against counterfeiters overseas, was quoted in the article for his expertise on what is being done to stop the knock-off apparel industry. Mr. Hilliard said “We want to convince the counterfeit apparel industry that we are going to do whatever it takes to stop the flow of money.”
The article went on to highlight the January court verdict from a judge in Federal District Court in Trenton, NJ that awarded the plaintiffs a preliminary injunction against several counterfeit industry websites, which has led to roughly $600,000 in third party accounts to be frozen.
